Texas Notary Fee Schedule

Texas Government Code § 406.024 sets out the standard fees a Notary Public may charge for notary public services. In addition, § 406.111 sets out the fees of an online notarization.

$6.00 – Acknowledgment
$
1.00 – Each additional signature on the same document

An Acknowledgement is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary, was identified by the notary, and declared to the notary that the signer willingly signed the document for its intended purpose.

$6.00 – Jurat

A Jurat is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary with an unsigned document, was identified by the notary, was put under sworn oath or affirmation to attest that the statements in the document were true, then signed the document in the presence of the notary.

$6.00 – Verification

A Verification is a certification that a signer personally appeared before the notary, was identified by the notary, acknowledged signing the document, was put under sworn oath or affirmation, and verified the statements in the document were true.

A Verification is a cross between an Acknowledgment and a Jurat. Unlike a Jurat, the document to be notarized may be signed beforehand.

$6.00 – Certified Copy of Non-Recordable Document – per certificate

A Certified Copy of a Non-Recordable Document is a certification that a document was presented to the notary by the document’s custodian, was photocopied by the notary, and is a true, exact, complete, and unaltered copy.

The document cannot be a public record, to which a certified copy can be obtained by an official office, nor a publicly recordable document.

$25.00 and up – Online Notarization

The price for each online notarization is $25 in addition to the regular notary charges as indicated above.

For example:
  •  Notarizing one document with one signer – the charge will be $31 ( $25 + $6 = $31 ) ;
  •  Notarizing one document with two signers – the charge will be $32 ( $25 + $6 +$1 = $32 ) ;
  •  Notarizing one document with two signers, but there are separate notarial certificates for each signer – the charge will be $62 ( $25 + $6 for the first signer’s notarization and $25 + $6 for the second signer’s notarization )
